Turkish delegation departed for Norway for the II. Winter Youth Olympic Games to be held in Lillehammer on 12-21 February 2016. The delegation will fly to Oslo first, then travel to Lillehammer. Turkish delegation consists of six girls and seven boys, total of 13 athletes who will compete in Alpine Skiing, Cross Country Skiing, Curling, Luge, Ski Jumping and Snowboard Cross.
1.100 young athletes between the ages of 15-18 from 70 nations will gather for sports, education and cultural celebrations in Lillehammer, Hamar, Gjøvik, Øyer and Oslo.
Young athletes will compete at 70 medal events of 15 Winter sport disciplines including new events like Monobob, Nordic Team Event, Cross-Country Cross and Biathlon Super Sprint.
Nihat Enes Limon and Selin Açıkgöz in Alpine Skiing, Amed Oglago and Güllü Akalın in Cross-Country Skiing, Muhammed Ali Bedir in Ski Jumping, Miray Gürkınav and Muhammed İkbal Yılmaz in Snowboard Cross, Göksu Özkaya and Cengizhan Kaplan in Luge along with Oğuzhan Karakurt, Tunç Esenboğa, Beyzanur Konuksever and Berivan Polat in Curling will be competing at the Games for Turkey.
Zekai Ayan will be the Chef De Mission of Turkish delegation which consists of Sezel Tansel as Team Official, Yusuf Dilik as Alpine Discipline Coach, Sabahattin Oglago and Cross Country Skiing Coach, Fatih Ağduman as Curling Coach, Topi Sarparanta as Ski Jumping Coach, Dieter Stefan Krassnig as Snowboard Cross Coach and Erken Haşıloğlu as Luge Coach together with the Turkish Young Ambassador Alper Kartal.
